Where is Strathurst?

In the south of England, in north-east Hampshire, between Liss and Liphook. Dig out your Ordnance Survey map of the area or use the online map of your choice. See the military camp, sewage works and golf course? All gone. Strathurst is here, mostly south of the A3.

What does Strathurst mean?

‘Strat’ and ‘hurst’ are Old English words for ‘Roman road’ and ‘wooded hill’ respectively. So a Roman road on a wooded hill. There is no archaeological evidence for any Roman road in Strathurst.
